 Vintage Hairstyles are coming back into fashion. Hair stylists seeking inspiration are looking back to the
1920's and 1930's for something new and different. While they may not come up with something completely new they usually put a different spin on old
styles to create the latest in hair fashions. If you are a hairdresser or stylist looking for inspiration then you have come to the right place.
Vintage hairstyling techniques have never really disappeared. They may only be found in old books or have been incorporated into
more modern methods, but they still exist in one form or another and are shared and discussed here.

 Hairoteria is a look back into the recent past - the last 60 to 85 years, where we describe hairdressing of
a different era as it was done then. Techniques may have improved since way back then, but if nothing else it leads to an appreciation of the difficulties
those before us faced. Learning old style techniques can also be an inspiring and creative experience.
Hairdressing has a history of thousands of years and to ignore past knowledge is to place limitations on our current knowledge,
understanding, and creativity. It is our hope that sharing this historical hairstyling information will keep the old techniques alive and lead to
new and interesting hair styles.
